Flint's New Puppy!

We got a new puppy! Our neighbor, Pat, knew we needed a ranch dog for our new place. Flint doesn't like dogs much and when the ranch dogs would come up to us out side, Flint would get upset. We all knew we needed to get a dog, so Flint and Quay could really be boys! Well, Pat was at the sale on Wednesday and they were selling some puppies there. Pat couldn't resist. He got Flint a puppy. It took awhile for Flint to warm up to a dog, but after awhile he started playing with her. She's a beautiful, sweet Red Heeler puppy. We are so fortunate to have such a dear friend like Pat. I think Flint, Jeff, Quay & I are going to have to fight over her. She is already loved very much. Quay kept chasing her all over the kitchen last night. She'd lay down and get settled and here would come Quay to play. Jeff took her this after noon out to the new ranch, so she could get used to the "working lifestyle". When Flint got up from his nap, he wanted to know where his puppy went? "Puppy gone?" We wanted to know what Flint wanted to name his puppy and he said, "Puppy." We couldn't get anything but "Puppy." out of him. So, Jeff named her Jessie. It fits. Thank you so much, Pat!

Easter!

Easter was so much fun this year. The day actually turned out nice considering that we had snow on the ground when we left Clayton. This made me very grumpy. I had cute spring outfits planned for everyone that we would have frozen in. Hopefully we will be able to wear them on Mother's Day! It was the first time we had Kelsie and we could decorate eggs all together! We all had a great time decorating eggs. We also made Easter cup cakes! We went to my mother-in-laws house and had a delicious ham with all the trimmings! The whole family was there. All of our nieces and nephews were there. The older kids played the part of the Easter Bunny. Flint and his cousin Mason had a great time hunting eggs together. They split up and one took 1/2 of the yard and the other one took the other 1/2. It was too funny. Flint's Easter basket wasn't nearly big enough for all the eggs he gathered and he kept dropping them. It was very distressing. Quay had a great time with Audra and all the aunt, uncles and grandparents enjoyed watching all the activity. God has truly blessed us with such a great family. May God bless your family's as we celebrate the Miracle of Easter Sunday! He is Risen!

It's comming along!

Well, as many of you know, we've decided to build a house at our new ranch in Clayton. It's going up faster than I can get pictures downloaded on the blog. It should be finished by May or June. (Most likely June.) We knocked down the original ranch house and we're building the new house in the same location so we could take advantage of the existing septic tank, electricity, phone line, and my favorite, the trees! Here is Kelsie, Flint, & Jeff in front of the house and garage. The walls went up quick. We were able to see the design of the house very easily at this point. You always hope your measurements work out the way you thought. I don't know how many times Jeff has stepped off rooms in the house we're in now to make sure the new rooms were going to be what we expected. Here are Kelsie and Jeff in the Living room and Kitchen area. We're going to have an open living room, where the kitchen, living room and dinning room are all in the same area. I'm so excited to wash dishes in the same room that my family is in after dinner! Jeff is sitting in the picture window. We placed it so that when your sitting in the living room, you can see Rabbit Ear Mountain. So picturesque! Here is the house (without the garage). The front door is right behind the tree. I'll get new pictures soon. At this point the front porch is on and the driveway is poured. The metal roof is being put on and the windows are in. The bricks should start going up Monday (4/14) and the front and back doors should be here Tues (4/15). The electrical has been run and the pre-wire for the satellite, data, phone, and security system has been done. The sheetrock should go up the week of the April 21st. I'll send more pictures as soon as I get them! We can't wait for you all to come and visit!
