Quay meets his Great-Great Grandmother

Quay was finnally old enough to go to the nursing home and meet his great-great grandmother, Granny (Viva). She was so excited to meet him. She wanted to hold him immediately.

She is able to understand that these are my children, but she hasn't been able to get there names. When Jeff and I married, she called him Joe Randsom. There is a Randsom Family in Claude, but not a Joe Randsom. Flint is Joe Jr. Now, Quay is Walter. We're not sure where she got Walter. We all had such a great time together. Flint had such a great time visiting her, too. He played with her wheelchair and enjoyed his cake. He hasn't completely warmed up to Granny, but when we got ready to leave he waved goodbye and then went over to her and gave her a kiss. She was so overwhelmed that she started to cry. I'll never forget this visit for as long as I live.

Family Vacation

We went to the cabin in Cuchara, CO for our family vacation this year. Jeff's sister, Lisa, and her family joined us. There was fishing, archery, shooting practice, and lots of eating! The boy's and Kelsie spent most of their time at Blue Lake catching fish. They got to see a bear that frequented the lake. They made a game to see who could scare who by pretending to be a bear.
Another source of entertainment was our little Flint. He is learning so much so quick, it was fun to watch him learn from 3 teenagers. He mimics everything. He mimics his daddy most of all. One of my favorite things to do at the cabin is go on walks. Flint loved to go on walks, too. He and his Aunt Lisa went on a walk and picked flowers for me. I'm truly blessed to have such a sweet little boy (& a wonderful sister-in-law).
We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family. These kids are great kids. I love that we have such great friends as in-laws. God has truly blessed us. Spending time in Colorado helps me to appreciate how awesome God is and how much He has given our family. I am reminded to "have faith that can move mountains." That takes on a more intimate meaning when your surrounded by the majestic mountains.

Choo-Choo Flint's 2!

It was Flint's 2nd birthday July 28th! Can you believe it's been 2 years since God blessed us with this miraculous life? Flint loves his "Choo-Choos", so we decorated with a train theme.

We decked out the house with balloons and train party decorations. We had a delicious brisket dinner and spice cake and cookies for dessert!

Flint got lots of fun presents. He got a lawn mower that blows bubbles. A rockin' cool guitar! Lots of cute clothes to make a little boy handsome. Mom and Dad got him a old timey tricycle.

Like all good things, it had to come to an end. We said goodbye to all our guests and headed off to bed with Elemen. The next day we would have leftover cookies and toys to play with.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. We had a great time with everyone!
